Washing machines in Fawkner laundries
A standard washing machine fitting starts with unpacking the machine and pulling out the transit bolts that hold the drum still in transit. We then level the feet so it will not walk on the spin cycle, connect the inlet hoses to your existing taps, hook the drain hose securely into the trough or standpipe, plug it in and run a cycle to check for leaks. A normal fitting takes no more than 60 minutes.
In Victoria, connecting appliance hoses to taps that are already there is not plumbing work under regulation 12(2)(e) of the Plumbing Regulations 2018. A new tap, a tap that needs moving or a drain that needs changing is different: that work belongs to a licensed plumber, and we will flag it before you book.
Dishwashers and ovens in the kitchen
Replacing a dishwasher is usually a like-for-like swap: isolate the tap, disconnect the old unit, slide it out, fit the new one into the same cavity, secure it with its brackets and test it. Putting a dishwasher in for the first time needs a cavity, a dishwasher tap, a drain connection and a power point already in place.
We also install freestanding plug-in ovens and cooking ranges, and fit built-in ovens once an electrician has connected them. Hardwired ovens and cooktops need a licensed electrician and gas appliance work needs a licensed gasfitter. Tradie at Door does not do licensed electrical or gas work.
Out with the old one
We disconnect the appliance being replaced and move it clear so the new one can go straight in. If you want the old unit taken away, disposal or recycling is a separate charge, and it is listed in your quote so there are no surprises.
Short on laundry floor space? Stacking a dryer on a front-loader is available, subject to the two machines being compatible, the manufacturer’s stacking kit being on hand and the floor being level and solid.
