Freestanding ovens and cooking ranges

A freestanding range that plugs into an existing power point can be unpacked, wheeled into its gap, levelled so the oven door seals properly and fitted with any anti-tip bracket that came in the box. In an older Coburg cottage the floor is not always level, so levelling the feet is a bigger part of the job than people expect.

Built-in ovens are fitted into the cabinetry once an electrician has made the connection. Hardwired ovens and cooktops must be connected by a licensed electrician, and any gas appliance work by a licensed gasfitter, in Victoria. Dishwashers in renovated kitchens

In a renovated kitchen the dishwasher cavity, tap and drain are usually already set up, which makes a replacement straightforward: disconnect, slide out, fit the new unit, secure, level and leak-test. Check the cavity size before buying, because a model that is a little taller than the old one may not clear the benchtop.

Apartment laundries

Apartment laundries are often a cupboard with taps and a standpipe. A washing machine fitting there means removing the transit bolts, levelling the machine in a tight space, connecting the inlet hoses to the existing taps and securing the drain hose. Connecting hoses to existing taps is not plumbing work in Victoria under regulation 12(2)(e) of the Plumbing Regulations 2018. A normal fitting takes no more than 60 minutes.

For apartments, include the floor, lift access and any building entry instructions so the appliance can be brought in without delay.

Removing the old appliance

We disconnect the old unit and move it out of the way. If you want it taken away, disposal or recycling is a separate charge, shown in your quote before you book.
