Narrow hallways and older cottages
Older cottages can have narrow hallways and tight corners. Flat-pack panels are easiest to carry through in their cartons and assemble in the bedroom, so we build large wardrobes and beds in place rather than in the living room. Tell us if a piece is going into a small room so we can check the build will fit before the carcass is stood up.
Older homes (often built before about 1950) may have lath and plaster walls and newer ones plasterboard, so each house is checked on site. If a tall bookcase or wardrobe needs anchoring, that check comes before the anti-tip bracket is fitted.
Apartments and lifts
For an apartment, include the floor number, lift access and any building entry instructions. Some lifts are small, so long panels may need to go up in their cartons one at a time. If the building has an owners corporation, check its rules on wall fixings before asking us to anchor anything.
