Stacking a dryer in a compact laundry
Stacking the dryer on top of a front-loader frees up floor space in a small townhouse laundry. It depends on the structure: the two machines need to be compatible, the manufacturer’s stacking kit must be supplied, and the floor has to be level and solid enough to carry both. We check all three on site before lifting the dryer into place.
If the machines are not a compatible pair, we will tell you rather than improvise a stack that could shift during a spin cycle. Send both model numbers, the manufacturer’s stacking-kit details and a photo of the laundry space when requesting a quote.
If compact laundry storage is arriving as a kit too, include assembly of the new storage with its model and dimensions; appliance stacking and furniture assembly need separate details.
Washing machine hook-up
We take out the transit bolts, set the machine level, attach the inlet hoses to the existing taps without kinks and secure the drain hose in the trough or standpipe, then run a test cycle. A normal washing machine fitting takes no more than 60 minutes.
In Victoria, connecting appliance hoses to existing taps is not plumbing work (Plumbing Regulations 2018, regulation 12(2)(e)). A new or relocated tap, or a change to the drain, needs a licensed plumber.
Dishwasher replacement
Swapping a dishwasher means disconnecting the old one at the existing tap and drain, sliding it out and fitting the new unit into the same cavity, then securing, levelling and leak-testing it. Check the cavity dimensions first. A first-time dishwasher needs a tap, drain connection and power point already in place.
Taking away the old washer or dishwasher
If you are upgrading, we can disconnect the old appliance and remove it. Disposal or recycling is a separate charge, shown in the quote. We install all major brands and are not affiliated with any of them. Ovens and ranges are covered too: freestanding plug-in models we install ourselves, built-in ovens after an electrician connects them, and gas or hardwired work goes to a licensed gasfitter or electrician.
